To ensure aid is processed on time, students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to March 1st, the FIU priority deadline date. All students must apply or reapply yearly for financial aid. Grants, federal work-study and federal loans all require completion of the FAFSA. The Funds for Books program is an advance on the financial aid awarded it is not additional aid. Funds for Booksįinancial aid recipients may be eligible to receive a Book Advance to purchase books and supplies at the beginning of the semester.
